Thursday Reflections

I was hoping to start a tradition here at Student Mom.  I wanted to have Reflective Thursdays, where I'd reflect on my week and write about the best moment that I recall (this is important because I have limited recall most of the time ask anyone at work), but it hasn't got off the ground.

I don't recall a specific moment that had me wowed... except...
It was my birthday on Saturday.
BUT...
It started on Friday night when Handsome Hubby created a dining work of art for me, complete with shockingly delicious and expensive wine.

On Saturday I was taken to breakfast with the family, and from there we went shopping!!!
I received some awesome clothes and a stunning O'Neil costume.  I've been trying to find a costume for ever, so this was fantastic.
I was then taken to lunch at my FAVOURITE restaurant - Captain Fines Fish Factory - I LOVE IT!!!  Angel Boy wasn't smitten with the idea, because he insists he doesn't eat fish... except if it's battered, and fresh... which this is!
For someone who doesn't eat fish, he sure knocked his lunch back with relish.
We went home and rested - them's good eating, and I was stuffed, so dinner was snacky.

On Sunday we decided to put the pool up for the last three scorching months of summer.  I managed to get myself burned while smoothing it out, which is very frustrating because I am anti-sun and big into sunscreen, which I forgot.  Needless to say I was given gears by Angel Boy who is normally on the receiving end of my whining about sunscreen.
While we were doing this, Handsome commented on the fact that the gas braai (BBQ) we saw during our shopping was a good price.  I agreed.  He took Angel Boy and went to get it.

We now have a 3 burner gas braai!! (Happy Dance)

I took the Bunny and went to get food and salads for the braai - all very exciting.
Enthusiasm was somewhat dampened by the fact that we couldn't get gas!!!
Handsome (the champion) went out one last time and... eureka!

Which was a good thing because I was really excited about using our gas braai for the very first time.

All in all it was one of the best birthday weekends I can recall.  It helped that my birthday fell on a weekend, which it hasn't done for many many years.

Handsome Hubby pulled out all the stops and I was completely blessed out my socks.

Thank you Handsome; you make every day a special occasion, and special occasions - out of this world!
