Budding Artist?

I promised to post some of my art on the blog.

Here are three paintings - I'm afraid the photography doesn't do them much justice.

The first is a picture I painted for my In Laws because MIL loved the one I did when we were selling the flat. Her home is more pastel in colour than mine, so my bright primary colours would never have worked in her home. I hope it looks ok in her home because it's only an A4 canvas and I'm used to A2 or A1 sizes that make a statement.

The green lady is a picture I drew in my early twenties and finally managed to paint during Art class in my thirties. The background was organic and undulating in the 20's picture, but I'd gone all geometric by the time I hit 30. To be honest, by the time I got to the background I was completely over the work, but it seems to have worked.

The big one is the one I painted for the sale of the flat about 6 or 7 years ago - we had no art on the walls so I whipped it up over two days.
I had taken the idea from a painting I'd seen by one of our beach vendors. I was torn by my plagiarism until I went back past his work and realised I was about as close to his work as black is to white!
Remarkable how the brain recalls things vs reality. Seriously! You'd better hope you never need me as a witness for anything - I'm WAY off the mark!

    1. Thank you. I needed to try softer colours, so the MIL's painting was a total experiment. Thank you for stopping by.
