For fun, for love of the sound of words, for play, for delight, for joy and celebration at the art of communication.
For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.
Won’t you join us?

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in. (Well... actually you can't because I don't know how to set up Mr Linky)
3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!
OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes on:
Grateful…
Go (Because Green means go...)
I had a rough youth (read: stupid) with regard to relationships and money.
My mistake?... Working in casino's where you got paid FAR too much at such a young age (19), and life was racey.
So when Casino's closed (because the powers that be weren't receiving their 20 pieces of silver) and I started working for normal people with normal hours and normal salaries, I was still spending what I used to earn 'back in the day'. Got to love credit cards!
In Any Event... I was at a braai (BBQ) and in walked this chap. Well... I couldn't get the stupid grin off my face, and I know it was stupid because my BBF was giving me that "Seriously!? Grow up!" look.
As it happened it seems that he noticed me too... which is a good thing, because raising his baby and mothering his sons would be a bit awkward if he didn't... especially since we managed a trip down the aisle too.
I digress... the point is... this amazing man taught me some valuable lessons, for which I am extremely grateful:
1. To love myself because I'm worth it. (And with that came loving my environment, so suddenly I had to learn about housework!! Clearly there were some cons, but they're survivable)
2. That bills get paid before you do! (God bless him! Who'dathunkit?!?)
3. That love is very real, very precious, and really does make you all warm and fuzzy.
He gave me a wonderful daughter, who really is the light of my life.
He's given me a beautiful home that I cherish and enjoy.
He's given me two boys that make my heart glad.
I miss him terribly when we're not together and I love every moment we have with each other.
I am grateful that he helped me to grow up. I am grateful that he's with me every day.
I am grateful to an awesome God for putting us together and keeping us in love.
Stop (Because red means stop)
OK, show me what you’ve got.
This is a very sweet description and I love the idea of a five minute free write. I can't manage a short comment without cringe worthy spelling errors. This might be good practice. Thank you for sharing this sweet story and fantastic idea for next friday.
